“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change” Charles Darwin
Learning to understand changes we experience. Not judging; but observing, understanding, accepting and responding to it in a way that is gentle, meaningful and leads us towards our original self.
Everyone is different. Stress, anxiety, depression are common ‘symptoms’ that are spoken about in counselling. I am interested in what these ‘symptoms’ actually look and feel like in your individual everyday life... how you’ve survived and lived your life so far.
Everyone has strengths. Even if we have to dig up long forgotten experiences to find them. We will find them.
Everyone has a story. Knowing who you are or rediscovering who you are is an important part of the counselling experience. We shall explore.
“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time” T.S Eliot
I use a blend of evidence-based therapies (like CBT, Mindfulness, Narrative therapy) with the people I see. I am particularly interested in creative therapies using art, journal writing, visualisations, symbolism/metaphor.
